Career pivot to something with better hours?

Anyone here made a switch from a high stress career to something that pays less but gives you your life back? I've been in management for 10 years and I'm good at it but it owns me. Thinking about stepping back to an individual contributor role or even a completely different field. Probably means taking a pay cut which is scary with two kids in school and a mortgage. But is money worth missing everything? Looking for honest takes from guys who've made moves.

I made a similar move about 4 years ago and honestly it was the best decision. Yeah, the money was tighter for a bit but being able to actually show up for my kids' stuff without constantly checking work emails? Priceless. What field are you thinking about pivoting to?
This is exactly why I'm exploring options right now too. The grind isn't worth it if you're missing everything. Have you thought about consulting or freelance work? Could give you flexibility and better pay than you'd expect.
