Daughter's school pickup is at 3 and I finally told my boss I can't move it

For months I've been shuffling things around trying to make meetings work, staying late to compensate. But today I just said no, I have to leave at 2:45 to pick up my daughter. Been dreading it but my boss said that's fine. Turns out setting a boundary wasn't the end of the world. Feeling pretty good about prioritizing my family. Why did I wait so long to do this?

Man that's the move. I work nights and make it happen during the day for my kids. Your boss will adjust once they see you're serious about it.

Good for you. Your boss will respect the clarity more than you staying late trying to make everything work. Kids are only young once and pickup time doesn't move.
