Daycare cost is legitimately insane in Boston

Just got the quote for our second kid starting in Sept and I'm actually sitting in my car at work writing this because I'm too embarrassed to show my wife in person. $2,400/month for full-time infant care. That's more than our mortgage. I get that supply/demand and teachers need to be paid but wtf. Anyone have legit alternatives? Nanny share? Babysitter co-ops? We're in the Newton/Wellesley area if anyone has recs.
