Seriously looking at $2,100/month per kid for full-time. TWO kids. That's $4,200 a month. My entire second job would go to daycare. How is anyone doing this? Are we supposed to just accept this or is there something I'm missing?
Boston daycare prices are criminal honestly. We looked at places in the suburbs and it was barely cheaper. At one point I did the math and realized I could just not work.
The fact that daycare costs more than college is something nobody warns you about. It's the most insane expense I have as a parent right now.
This is why we moved out of Boston proper. Still expensive but we're saving about $800 a month per kid by going 20 minutes outside the city. Might be worth looking at if you have flexibility.
$4,200 a month is basically a second mortgage. Have you looked into any subsidies or tax credits? Massachusetts has some programs but they're not publicized well.

What about in-home daycare or nanny shares? Some people in my area have found those to be like 30% cheaper than the big centers.
