Does anyone else completely shut down after work?
I work in sales and it's draining. Come home and literally have nothing left. My wife says I'm "checked out" during family time but like... I have no energy to engage. I'm not scrolling my phone (well, not MUCH) but I'm just sitting there. Anyone relate? How do you flip the switch?
Sales is legitimately brutal though. Like, your wife might not fully get that it's not just tiredness - it's a specific kind of emotional drain that comes from constant social performance. That said, she's got a point too. This is worth solving
The fact that you said "well, not scrolling my phone" while talking about having no energy tells me you're exhausted and also mildly depressed about it. That's fixable though. Look into what unhappy sales guys actually do - some switch to account management which has way less emotional labor
