Does anyone's job actually respect that you have kids?

Real question: have any of you found companies that genuinely don't make you feel like garbage for having parental responsibilities? Like where "my kid is sick and I need to leave" is treated like... a normal human thing that happens? Every place I've worked treats fatherhood like a cute hobby I do on weekends but god forbid it impacts my 9-to-5. Currently at a mid-size tech company and they're "flexible" but everyone knows that means you'll be answering emails at midnight to make up for it. Looking for other industries/company types that might be different.
