Finally back in the office 2 days a week and honestly it's been amazing
I know everyone talks about how great remote is, and don't get me wrong, I love being home. But man, getting out of the house 2 days a week has been a game-changer for my mental health. Just being around adults, having actual uninterrupted meetings, finishing a thought without someone yelling "DAD!" - it's like a reset button. My wife keeps the kids those days and I come home with way more patience and energy. Probably sounds crazy but just wanted to share since I see so many posts about hating the office.
Getting out of the house is huge for mental health. Even just the commute and being in a different space resets something in your head that scrolling on the couch doesn't.
The desk lunch by myself has become my therapy. No one asking me for snacks, no background cartoons, just me eating without negotiating. Worth the drive.
