Took 8 months of emails and conversations but they approved a Mon-Thu schedule starting next month. Tips if you're thinking about pitching this:

Show the math: my productivity actually went UP when I'm not exhausted
Propose a 3-month trial, not permanent
Have a coverage plan for Fridays
Don't apologize for wanting this

This is huge. I've been thinking about asking for this but wasn't sure it was even worth trying. How much did you have to compromise? Like did they want something from you in return or did you just need to prove it works?

The mental health piece of this can't be overstated. Even just knowing you have Friday to decompress, catch up on house stuff, or just BE with your family changes everything about how you approach the other four days.

My company would never but I'm actually jealous. A real extra day every week would change my entire life. I could actually be present on one of those random weekdays instead of everything compressed into weekends.

Are you keeping the same salary or did they dock your pay for the extra day off? I feel like some companies use the 4 day week as a sneaky way to cut hours and benefits.
