Finally got the flexibility I needed

Been fighting with my boss for months about a flexible schedule. I proposed doing 4 10-hour days instead of 5 8-hour days so I could have Fridays to be the primary parent. Finally got approval last week. My first Friday off was amazing - went to my kid's school assembly, had lunch with him, picked him up early. Feels like I'm actually getting my life back. If you're thinking about asking for flexibility, do it. Worst they can say is no and if you have any leverage at all, it might just work.
