Finally took the plunge on remote work and it's changing everything
After 8 years in the office I got approved to work from home 3 days a week starting next month. I know this sounds simple but I'm honestly terrified and excited at the same time. My biggest worry is that people will think I'm not committed if I'm not in the office grinding it out. Anyone else deal with that guilt? I want to be there for my kids bedtime but I also don't want to tank my chances at that promotion next year. How do you guys balance being present vs being taken seriously at work?
Three days a week remote is a game changer. I'm at 3 days too and being here for lunch with my son or catching him after school makes such a difference. The mute button is definitely going to be your friend though.
