Getting promoted but it means more travel - should I take it?
Got offered a promotion today. Better pay, more responsibility, but also a lot more travel. Like 20% of the month minimum. My kids are 4, 6, and 9. My wife is supportive but I can see the worry in her face. I know she already handles so much while I work. Is the money worth missing more of their childhood? Looking for honest thoughts from you guys who've been through this.
Congrats on the promotion, that's huge! I'd say really sit down and map out what 20% travel actually looks like month to month. I turned down extra responsibility last year because the travel would have meant missing too much with my boys. The money's nice but you can't get those moments back.
