Going back to office 3 days a week after parental leave

Just finished my 8 weeks of paternity leave and I'm back in the office 3 days a week starting Monday. I feel like I'm abandoning my wife and newborn but financially we need my income. She says she's fine but I can tell she's anxious about handling the baby solo all day. Anyone else dealing with this transition? How do you not feel like a jerk leaving them at home?

Those 8 weeks of leave are precious - you'll miss some of the baby time but you've got a solid foundation now. The three days/two days thing usually settles into a rhythm faster than you'd think. You got this.

I'm about to do this exact thing in a few weeks and I'm already anxious about it. Three days in the office means the schedule gets fragmented. Did you and your wife figure out a system for pickup/dropoff coverage?
