Going back to the office after two months WFH and I'm already regretting it
Had my first day back in the office yesterday and forgot how exhausting commuting is. Left the house at 7:15, didn't get home until 6. By the time I got back my kids were already in bed and my wife looked like she wanted to scream. Meanwhile when I was working from home I could eat lunch with them and help with homework. Now I'm back to just being the guy who shows up tired at night. The paycheck feels like it's not worth what I'm missing.
The commute absolutely drains you. I had to sit down and figure out what I was actually missing during those 8 months WFH. If it's the extra family time, maybe you can negotiate some hybrid days?
