Got offered a promotion that would require travel

Making solid money now and this promotion would be almost 20% more but it means 2-3 nights a week on the road. My oldest is 7, youngest is 3. I keep telling myself the extra money could provide a better life for them but I know that's me justifying it. Wife hasn't even said anything but I can tell she's nervous about being solo parent most of the week. Do I take it and grind it out for a few years, or stay in my lane?

2-3 nights a week is brutal with young kids. I'd crunch the numbers hard on whether that 20% bump actually makes sense after factoring in what you're missing. Your oldest is at such a cool age right now.

Man, that's a tough call. I've seen guys take those promotions and honestly the money doesn't replace being around for bedtime stories, you know? At 7 and 3 they still need their dad present. Only you know if it's worth it.
