Got Offered Remote Work and I'm Terrified I'll Lose Respect at the Office
Company is letting me work from home 3 days a week but I keep thinking about what people will say. Know it's dumb but feel like I'll look like I'm not committed or not a team player. My wife is pushing me to take it since I could pick the kids up from school sometimes. Financially makes sense, family makes sense, but the old voice in my head is screaming that I need to prove myself. Anyone else deal with this anxiety?
Take the remote work offer. The guys who judge you for being a better parent and more present for your family aren't worth listening to. I worried about the same thing and it turned out most people were actually jealous. Your work quality matters way more than your location.
The real respect comes from delivering results. I did remote for two years and actually got promoted because I could focus without office distractions. Your productivity will speak louder than anyone's opinions.
