Got passed over for promotion again

Three years, solid performance, but got passed over for a guy who works 60 hour weeks and has no kids. The feedback was I'm not showing enough commitment. Meanwhile I hit every deadline, my team's numbers are good, and I actually have a life outside these walls. Trying not to be bitter but it's hard. Part of me wants to prove something but the other part is like why would I want to sacrifice more for a company that clearly doesn't value what I'm doing. Anyone dealt with this in their career?

This is why I started looking at other companies honestly. When they value 60 hour weeks over actual results and your ability to be a present parent, that's a sign it's time to move on.

That's brutal man. Three years of solid work should count for something. The whole 'face time equals commitment' mentality is so outdated. You've got a family depending on you and you're still crushing it at work.

I feel this in my soul. Got passed over twice now because I actually leave at a reasonable hour to help with homework. Meanwhile the guy who's there until 8pm gets all the praise. Makes zero sense.

Sorry man, that's really unfair. Document your wins and start networking outside the company. Sometimes the only way up is out, especially if they don't value work-life balance.
