Guilt about missing my son's game

Had a client emergency on the day of his soccer game. Couldn't get out of it. Watched a clip my wife recorded but it's not the same. He didn't say anything but I could tell he was disappointed. Trying not to beat myself up but man this job takes a lot from family time.

That's brutal and I've been there. Client emergencies don't care about game schedules. The clip your wife sent is rough but at least you got to see it. Did your son understand it was work?

Working dad life. You're not the bad guy here. Bad clients are the bad guy. Did you at least get to talk to him after?

The guilt is real but you showed up in the ways you can control. Make the next game though. Even if it's just 15 minutes.
