How do I justify taking paternity leave when my boss keeps hinting I shouldn't?

So I put in for 4 weeks of paternity leave starting next month when my baby is due. My boss said congratulations but then mentioned how busy we are and how hard it would be to cover my accounts. I have 6 weeks of paternity leave available legally. I feel guilty but my wife needs me home. Am I being selfish? How did you guys handle this?

Man, take that leave. I had to fight for mine with four kids and it was worth every bit of pushback. Your baby won't get those early weeks back.

You're not being selfish, you're being a dad. I took my paternity leave with all three kids and never regretted it once. Your boss will survive without you for four weeks, trust me.
