How do you stay ambitious at work when your kids are your priority?

Got offered a promotion that would require more travel and longer hours. Year ago I would've jumped on it. But my 5yo has soccer, my 8yo needs help with homework, and my marriage needs attention too. Turned it down and honestly felt at peace about it. My boss seemed shocked. Is it weird that I'm okay not climbing the ladder anymore? Feels like I'm prioritizing what actually matters but also like I'm settling.
