Hybrid schedule rant: worst of both worlds

My company is "hybrid" which means 3 days in office, 2 days remote. Sounds good in theory but it's actually a nightmare. I have to do daycare drop-off every morning, which means I'm rushing out of the house stressed. On office days I can't pick up early if needed. On remote days I'm still not really present because I'm trying to look busy for Slack/video calls. I'm basically paying for daycare, getting zero flexibility, AND losing the commute time to decompress.
This is worse than just going in every day would be. Anyone else in this limbo situation or is it just me?
