Just got approved for 3 months paternity leave and I'm terrified

So the company actually came through and approved my request for 3 months when the baby comes in June. I should be thrilled right? But honestly I'm freaking out. My manager seemed cool about it but I keep thinking about how behind I'll be when I get back. Plus my salary is the bigger one in the household so there's this weird guilt about taking the time even though I'm entitled to it. Anyone else dealt with this mental block? How did you get over feeling like you were letting the team down?

That's totally normal man. I was nervous too before my first kid came, but those 3 months are going to fly by and you'll figure it out as you go. The terrified part means you're gonna be a great dad.

That's incredible your company approved it. I'd say lean into the fear a bit - prepare what you can but also know that you'll figure it out as you go. The fact that you got approved means they believe in you being there.
