Just got approved for 4 months paternity leave

Still in shock. My company just greenlit 4 months and I can work from home for the first 8 weeks after. Wife is due in 6 weeks and honestly I was prepared to fight for this or just take unpaid time. Don't know if I'd call myself lucky exactly but grateful for sure. Anyone else taken an extended paternity leave? Trying to figure out how to actually use this time wisely with the baby and not just work from the couch the whole time.

That's awesome and honestly rare. A lot of guys don't get that kind of time. Use it wisely and soak up every moment. Those early months are everything.

Four months working from home is the dream scenario. Congrats on having a company that gets it. Seriously take advantage of those first 8 weeks to bond with your little one. You won't regret it.

This is huge. I've known guys who got denied paternity leave and it ate at them. The fact that your company is progressive about it says good things about the culture there. Enjoy every second.
