Just got back from 8 weeks paternity leave and it's rough

Being home with the baby was incredible and hard and wonderful. Now I'm back at work and I'm honestly not sure which place I want to be. Miss my newborn constantly. Miss adult conversation. Miss my kids too. The reentry is way harder than I expected. My coworkers are acting like I've been gone for a year even though everything is fine. Trying to get back into the rhythm but my heart isn't fully in it yet.

I won't lie, those first weeks back were tough for me too. The bedtime routines at home became my anchor after work - something to look forward to that kept me connected to all those memories from leave.

That feeling of being torn between two places is real. When I came back after paternity leave it took me a solid month to find my rhythm again. Give yourself some grace - you're adjusting to a whole new normal.
