Just got flexed to 4 days/week and it's a game-changer
Negotiated down to 4 ten-hour days starting next month. I'll lose about 8% pay but gain every Wednesday. My company was surprisingly cool about it—apparently they're trying to be more flexible with parents. I'm gonna use Wednesdays for the stuff my wife usually handles solo: school pickups, doctor appointments, that chaotic gap between school and when she gets home.
Still feels surreal that this is happening. I know not everyone can do this but if your company seems open to it, it might be worth asking about. The mental shift is already happening.
That's huge man. Every Wednesday is basically getting your life back. How are you planning to use it?
