Just got offered a promotion but it means more travel
So my boss just offered me a senior position that comes with a 30% raise. Sounds great right? But it requires me to be in the office 4 days a week instead of my current 2, plus quarterly travel. My kids are 4 and 7 and my wife works too. I feel like I'm finally getting ahead career-wise but I'm terrified of missing out on their childhood. We're not hurting for money either. Has anyone else turned down a promotion for family reasons? Did you regret it?
This is the trap right here. More money but less time with the kids. I turned down a similar thing two years ago and haven't regretted it once. Your family is only young once man.
