Just got offered remote work arrangement and I'm terrified
So my boss approached me about going full remote starting next month. On paper it sounds perfect right? I could be home when the kids get back from school, no commute, more time with the family. But honestly I'm worried it's going to blur everything together. My home office is literally 15 feet from the kitchen. How do you guys actually separate work time from family time when you're in the same space all day? Anyone else struggle with this or am I overthinking it?
I did remote full time for about 8 months and honestly the hardest part was setting boundaries with work hours. They think you're always available. But being there for lunch with the kids and skipping the commute? That part was incredible. Just make sure you have a dedicated workspace away from the family chaos.
My guy, remote work saved my sanity when my second kid was born. No more 90 minute commutes, I can actually be present. Yeah there are challenges but the upsides way outweigh it. What's the main thing that's freaking you out about it?
