Just got told remote work is ending, dreading telling the family
So my company is ending the hybrid setup and forcing everyone back to the office 5 days a week starting next month. I've been remote for 2 years and honestly it's been amazing for my sanity. I get to have lunch with my kids, I'm here for school pickups most days, and I actually see my wife during the day. Now I'm looking at 2 hours of commuting again and I'm genuinely stressed about how this affects everything. Anyone else dealt with this? Do I just accept it or start looking elsewhere?
Five days a week back at the office is brutal in 2024. Have you pushed back at all or is it just a hard mandate? Either way, start thinking now about how you'll protect family time when you're commuting again.
