Switched roles internally to a job with predictable hours 5 months ago. Started keeping a little tally to see if I could make it through the holiday quarter without bailing on pickup duty. Just crossed the finish line yesterday. Small thing maybe but after years of scrambling, it feels HUGE. My daughter actually mentioned it unprompted. Gonna take this as a W.
This is what winning looks like. Not some promotion or bonus. Being there for pickups and knowing your kids' teachers and seeing their faces when you show up. Seriously well done.
Keeping a tally is such a dad move and I mean that in the best way. That's a whole year of consistency. Did you notice your relationship with your kids changing since you started being there more regularly?
