Just made it home for a 4yo recital I almost missed

Got the email reminder at 3pm today. It was at 5:30pm, 20 minutes away. I was downtown in meetings. I just... left. Told my boss something came up, got in the car, drove like a maniac (not proud of that part), made it in time to see my daughter sing one awkward song. She spotted me in the audience and her whole face changed. Worth the weird conversations tomorrow at work? 100%. That image is going to stick with me.
