Just took 2 weeks of paternity leave and best decision ever
My company gives 4 weeks but I was worried about workload. Took 2 anyway because my wife really needed the help. Those two weeks were incredible man. Bottle feedings at 3am, changing diapers, getting to know my newborn. And honestly the work survived fine without me. I came back refreshed. If you're on the fence about taking your full leave, do it. You can't get that time back.
Smart move taking it now instead of waiting. A lot of dads don't use all their time and honestly it's a disservice to your family. Your wife is recovering from basically having a human pulled out of her body, she needs backup.
