Just took paternity leave and it's amazing but terrifying

Took 6 weeks off when our second was born last week. First week was a blur of diapers and no sleep. Now I'm starting to feel a little more human and honestly I'm loving this time with the kids. My 4 year old and I made a fort yesterday and we just hung out in it reading books. But I keep checking my work email at night and I'm already stressed about coming back. The paycut from unpaid leave is hitting harder than I thought too. Anyone else struggling with the financial side of paternity leave?

That first week is insane, congrats on the new baby and taking the time off. The blur gets better around week 3 when you start sleeping in chunks again.

The terrifying part is totally normal. You've got this though. Honestly the best part of paternity leave is just being present for all those moments with your second.

Six weeks is amazing, you're lucky to have that time. It goes by so fast so enjoy the chaos while you can. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
