Just took paternity leave and it's the best decision I ever made

Took 8 weeks for baby number 3 and I'm only 2 weeks in but I don't want to go back. Watching my wife actually get some sleep is huge. I'm getting to do all the early stuff with the baby, bonding time, seeing all the little changes. Work is going to feel so boring when I go back. Really grateful my company lets us do this.

This is beautiful to read. Those early weeks with a newborn while being fully present are irreplaceable. Soak it all in because you're right, going back hits different.

Eight weeks is great if you can swing it. I didn't get that much time with my first and I always wondered what those extra weeks would've felt like.

Just wait until you have to go back. That first Monday hits like a ton of bricks when you've been home with a newborn.
