Manager asked if I want to go back to office full-time
Context: I've been remote for 2 years since my second kid was born. I negotiated this hard and it's been the only thing keeping me from losing my mind. Now my manager is pushing for "at least 3 days in office" starting next month. Says the team needs more collaboration, which is code for "we miss seeing you." But also - my kid has morning anxiety and needs me home with him before school, my wife starts work at 7am, and childcare costs would go through the roof with commute time built in. I'm trying to figure out if this is negotiable or if I need to start looking elsewhere. This is so frustrating because the work doesn't actually REQUIRE us to be in office - it's just culture stuff.
