Manager asked me to travel for two weeks in April
Project in Chicago needs hands on site. Two weeks. My oldest has his school play on the 22nd and I promised my youngest we'd build that model rocket. Told my manager I need to think about it but internally I'm losing it. I feel like I'm always choosing between career and family. The money would be good for a promotion track but man. How do you guys handle the big travel asks without feeling like you're sacrificing everything?
Could you do the rocket build before you leave? Even just getting it assembled the first week might scratch that itch for your youngest.
