My kids didn't recognize me after a 2 week business trip

Got back from project in Singapore yesterday and my 4 year old asked mom when daddy was coming home. I was standing right there. That broke me. My wife is tired of me being gone and the kids are growing up without me. I know we need the money but this can't keep happening. Might be time to look for a different role or company with less travel. Has anyone made a move like this?
