Passed over for promotion again
This is my third year at the company and they just promoted someone I trained to senior manager. My boss said I'm valued but I don't have the 'availability' right now because I have young kids. So basically being a dad is holding me back. I work hard, deliver results, but apparently that's not enough if I won't stay until 9pm every night. Trying to figure out if I should find somewhere else or just accept I'm not going to move up while the kids are little.
This is exactly why I started my side hustle. Not saying you need to do that, but sometimes companies don't value people until they're willing to walk. Your skills are worth more than a third pass-over.
