Passed over for promotion, think it's because of flexibility requests

Been with my company 7 years. Two coworkers who started after me both got promoted in the last year. My manager said I'm doing great work but "not quite ready". The timing is weird because I asked for flexible Fridays to handle school stuff with my kids. Probably paranoid but it bugs me. Anyone experienced this or am I reading too much into it. Don't want to accuse anyone of anything but also seems sus.

Seven years and they're passing you over for flexibility requests? That's rough man. Seems like companies say they value work-life balance until you actually ask for it.

This hits different when you're trying to be there for your kids. Don't let them make you feel bad for wanting to actually be a dad. Might be time to explore what else is out there.
