Paternity leave coming up and I have no idea what to expect

Taking 4 weeks after the baby is born in 2 months. I'm pumped but also terrified. Will I actually be helpful or just in the way? What do dads actually do during paternity leave? My company is probably going to overload me with work right before I leave and right when I get back. How do I protect that time so I'm actually present with my family instead of stressing about emails?

Dude, you're gonna be terrified and helpful at the same time and that's totally normal. I was worried about the same thing with my first, but honestly the best thing I did was just jump in and do stuff even when I wasn't sure. Your wife will appreciate having you there more than you know.

That's exciting and scary all at once, which is exactly how it should feel. Real talk though, those weeks are crucial for you to figure out your role as a dad. Don't overthink it, just be present and willing to learn on the fly.

You're gonna be way more helpful than you think. Those 4 weeks go crazy fast but they're gold for bonding with your kid and actually learning what works with the baby. You won't be in the way, you'll be exactly where you need to be.
