Paternity leave was the best and worst decision
Took 8 weeks when my youngest was born and it was amazing. Bonded with my newborn, helped my wife recover, learned how to change diapers without gagging. But then going back to work? That first Monday hit different. Spent all day thinking about them. Now I'm the guy in the office who talks about his kids constantly and I don't even care if people think it's annoying. Worth it though.
That bonding time is irreplaceable. I took six weeks with kid two and it made all the difference in feeling like an actual parent instead of just the guy who shows up in the evenings. Did you find it hard jumping back into work mode after?
