Paternity leave was the best decision I ever made

I took 6 weeks when my second was born and I have zero regrets even though my boss made me feel guilty about it. First week was chaos, second week I actually got the hang of things, and by week 6 I had real confidence with the baby. When I went back to work I was mentally ready instead of stressed. The bond I built in those 6 weeks is something I wouldn't trade for anything. If you're considering taking the time, do it. Your career will be fine.

Six weeks is solid. That second week transition you're talking about is real, but then you actually start enjoying it instead of just surviving it. Glad you're standing by the decision.
