Promoted but it means 50+ hour weeks now. Is it worth it?

Got the promotion I've been pushing for last month. More money, better title, all that stuff. Problem is the workload is insane right now and I'm barely seeing my family. Last night my 6 year old asked why I'm always tired. That hit different. The money is nice but I'm wondering if I should have just stayed put. Anyone been through this? Does it eventually level out or am I just gonna be this exhausted forever?

50+ hours is rough. I had to make peace with the fact that some weeks the kids get a less present version of me, but the financial security means I can actually be there for what matters. Just make sure you're still showing up for them.

Congrats on the promotion, man. I'd say give it three months before you decide if it's sustainable. With two kids myself, I learned that sometimes you need to renegotiate expectations with your boss once you're settled in the role.
