Promoted right after telling them about another kid on the way

Got offered a promotion to senior manager yesterday with a 20% raise. Found out this morning we're pregnant with number 3. The promotion comes with more hours, more travel, and more stress right when our family is about to get bigger. Do I take it? Turn it down? My wife says it's my call but that's not helpful. This is exactly what I was worried about when we decided to have another baby. What would you guys do?

Well that's one heck of a day. Congrats on both but definitely talk to your boss about paternity leave expectations before you really commit to this. You'll want to actually be there for the first few months.

Dude that's wild timing. The 20% raise will help with the new baby stuff for sure, but senior manager can mean 50+ hour weeks sometimes. Just saying be honest with yourself about what you're signing up for.
