Rant: Can't catch a break at work OR home

My boss just piled three new projects on me right as my son's baseball season is ramping up. I promised I'd make his games and now I'm drowning. My wife is already frustrated with me working late. Feel like I'm failing at both things. How do you guys balance this without feeling like you're always short-changing someone?

I feel this in my soul. The work stuff piles up right when the kids need you to actually be present. Something's gotta give and it's usually us that gives.

Missing games because of work stuff is rough. Which one matters more to you right now? Sometimes you gotta pick and own the choice.

That's the worst timing. Three projects plus baseball season is a lot on one person. Have you tried talking to your boss about the baseball stuff or does that not help?
