Rant: My boss has no idea how much context switching is killing me
Working from home with two kids doing virtual school is actually insane. I'll be in the middle of explaining something to my manager and my 6yo needs help with math, then my 8yo's teacher is calling because there's an issue. By 3pm my brain is scrambled eggs. I try to explain that I need a clear 2-3 hour block without interruptions to do my actual job and they just don't get it. They think remote work means I can just pause and play whenever. Anyone figure out how to set better boundaries with their employer about this?
Three kids here and I'm telling you, WFH with virtual school is a level of chaos nobody prepares you for. Have you tried blocking off actual focus time on your calendar and letting the kids know you're unavailable? Game changer for me.
