Rant: promotion came with 40% travel requirement
Got the promotion I wanted but now they want me traveling every other week. My kids are 5 and 7. This is supposed to be the good years with them and I'm gonna be on planes half the month. Probably gonna turn it down but I'm so frustrated. Is this just the reality of career growth or am I being unrealistic? My wife is supportive either way but I know it'll be tough on her.
That's a real trade-off you gotta sit with. Every other week away from that age group is rough. Have you talked to your family about what it would actually look like for them?
