Remote work blurred the line between dad and employee
Been working from home for 2 years now and honestly it's great for my family but terrible for my sanity. My office is literally 10 feet from the kitchen so I'm constantly getting pulled away for lunch duty, school pickups, whatever. Yesterday I was on a client call and my 5 year old was banging on the door asking for juice. Boss probably thinks I'm unreliable now. How do you guys set boundaries when your home office is also where your kids live?
Remote work is a double edged sword for sure. You save commute time but then nobody respects your work hours because you're just at home.
Can you close a door or set up your space differently so there's an actual barrier between work and home? That might help your brain switch gears.
