Remote work has been a game changer for me
Been remote for 3 years now and I don't know how I could go back to an office. Yeah it's sometimes hard to focus when my kids are home sick or whatever but I get to see them at lunch. I do school pickup most days. My career hasn't suffered and honestly I feel like I'm actually present in their lives instead of working 50 hour weeks and seeing them for 30 minutes at night. If anyone's considering pushing for WFH, do it.
Three years remote and you're still a believer? I've been thinking about pushing for it myself. The office commute was eating up so much time I could be spending with the kids. What's the hardest part for you about working from home?
Same experience here in Denver. The commute alone was two hours every day. Now I'm actually here for the after-school chaos instead of stuck in traffic. Home lunch with the kids has become my favorite part of the day honestly.
