Started working from home 6 months ago and I get to have lunch with the kids and actually be present for stuff. My commute is literally 20 feet. Yeah I work more hours because the boundary between work and home is blurry but being here for the afternoon pickup, homework help, and dinner with everyone is worth it. Don't think I could ever go back to the office full time now.
This makes me want to push my company harder on the remote work option. How long did it take before they agreed to let you work from home?
Six months in and still feeling it or are you starting to realize there are some rough parts too? I'm not trying to be negative just curious about the reality after the honeymoon phase wears off.
This is exactly what I needed to hear right now. Still working the old schedule and dying for something like this. Remote work seems like the goldmine for dads who actually want to be present.
Remote work saved my sanity. Being able to actually eat lunch with my kids instead of hearing about it later makes such a difference. Game changer is right.
Lunch with the kids changes everything doesn't it. I went remote about a year ago and I can't imagine going back. The fact that you're actually there when they get home makes such a difference in their day.

This is what I'm hoping for whenever our company finally allows it. Being there for those lunch moments has to be so much better than eating at your desk wondering what you're missing.
