Remote work is great until your kid barges into calls

Had my son burst into my home office during a client call yesterday screaming that his sister took his toy. Literally nothing I could do. Just sat there apologizing while he's in the background yelling about Legos. Boss was cool about it but this is like the 3rd time. Thinking about soundproofing the office or just accepting this is my life now. How do you guys manage with kids home while you're trying to look professional.

Man, I feel this in my soul. During the day shift I'm trying to be present for the kids but then I gotta jump on calls and it's chaos. Your client probably understood though, everyone's dealing with it now.

That's the remote work dream and nightmare at the same time right there. At least you were there to handle it instead of getting a call from daycare, I guess?
