Remote work is killing me and helping me at the same time
On one hand I get to see my kids at lunch and do pickup without stress. On the other hand my boss expects me to be available at 8pm for emails and I can't seem to shut work brain off when I'm in the same house. My wife is frustrated because I'm technically home but not really present. I need to set better boundaries but also don't want to look like I'm slacking off since we're remote. Anyone else dealing with this?
This is exactly my situation with the swing shifts. The times I'm home I'm fully present but there's always that guilt when work bleeds into family time. How do you set boundaries with your boss about what home time actually means?
